November 2011 French speakers, Winter Heating, Refugee Brethren

The Bible Companion readings for this Sunday include Colossians 1, and there's an MP3 on this chapter at http://www.aletheiacollege.net/audio/col1.mp3

Brother Viktor has been the subject of Carelink reports in the past, having suffered a stroke and basically left to die in a scarcely attended hospital ward with no attention or therapy, as he lived in a night shelter, was Russian, and had no funds to pay for any treatment. Humanly speaking if "we" ["you"] had not muscled in there with God's help with cash and practical hassling for his case, like paying someone to turn him over so he didn't get bed sores, he likely would be dead by now or just a basket case. He's now in a nice facility, various therapies have worked quite well, considering he had no attention after his stroke for some time, and he can now at least walk very slowly and unsteadily, and speak, and read. He even walked to the car unassisted this time when we picked him up to take him to meeting last Sunday. You can see him in the other photo at the hall with other brethren:

Likewise Rodrigo, whom doctors advised sis Ksusha to have aborted... here he is at meeting:

FRENCH SPEAKERS NEEDED
We are in touch with groups of Bible students in Mali and Burkina-Faso, in the very heart of French-speaking Africa and some of earth's poorest countries, bordering the Sahara desert. These contacts provide us with a great possibility to preach the Gospel, baptize them, and also do relevant welfare work amongst their communities. We're wondering if there are any French speakers out there who'd like to make a trip to these countries with us? Please prayerfully consider the call and email us at carelinks. We continue to be amazed at how the true Gospel and the Real Christ are spreading literally into all the world, and we see this as a sure sign of the Lord's soon return.

REFUGEE BRETHREN
There is now quite a network of Iranian brethren worldwide, who have fled from religious persecution against Christians [especially those holding "the hope of Israel"] within Iran. They in their turn are spreading the Gospel to other Iranians they meet. We regularly hold classes for the Iranians at the refugee centre in Latvia, and we are pleased to tell you of the baptism of H. More information in the email version of this Carelink

In the context of persecution we're pleased to report that we had contact this week with the ecclesia in Cairo, Egypt. After all the troubles there, they are still intact and have others interested in being baptized, but they say that openly practicing Christianity is getting increasingly difficult there. They, as so many, need our prayers.

With love from your brothers and sisters of Carelinks
